
Rules
These rules for the use of the Scientific Library (hereinafter referred to as the Library) define the procedure for access to library resources and user services. Compliance with these rules is aimed at preserving the library collection and creating conditions for effective educational and research work.
1. When entering the reading room, the user must present their ID card to the librarian;
2. Library users have the right to use the main types of library and information services provided by the library:
- receive books and other sources of information for temporary use in reading rooms and on loan;
- receive complete information about the composition of the collection through the catalog system and other forms of library information services;
- receive advisory assistance in searching for and selecting printed works and other documents, as well as in choosing information sources;
- take part in cultural and educational events organized by the library.
3. Users are obliged to treat the library property, books, other printed works, and other materials received from the library collection with care:
- return them within the established сроки;
- not remove them from the library premises if they have not been entered into the accounting documents;
4. When receiving books, it is necessary to inspect them carefully. If any defects are found, the librarian must be informed. Otherwise, responsibility for damage to the book rests with the reader who last used the publication.
5. Upon leaving Astana IT University, users are required to return to the library all publications registered under their name and sign the clearance sheet.
6. Library users are obliged to maintain general order in the reading room and loan department.
7. A user who has lost or damaged items from the library collection is obliged to replace them with a copy of the same edition, a duplicate, or another edition recognized by the library as equivalent in content and value. If replacement is impossible, the user must reimburse the restoration cost of the edition, namely the actual market value of the edition determined by the library.

Prohibited
making any notes on the pages of books and journals;
tearing out or folding pages;
removing barcodes from book covers;
disturbing the arrangement of books on open-access shelves;
entering the library premises in outerwear (jackets, coats, fur coats, etc.);
bringing in and consuming food in the library premises;
speaking loudly;
talking on a mobile phone;
listening to online classes and responding to the teacher out loud;
playing gambling games or using offensive language;
moving furniture;
removing equipment from the library or moving it from one room to another;
committing other actions that disturb order;
changing computer settings;
using the Internet for commercial purposes (selling, purchasing, advertising goods and services), or distributing information that offends the honor and dignity of citizens.
